Your Weekly S.I.P:

"You get your sip, from my Sip."

Hey there lads and lasses! This week's Sip is of a strongly brewed beverage known as Drama and Romance, with some natural Thriller elements to the story.

Synopsis:

When 17 year-old Kevin runs away from home, he meets the girl of his dreams on the bus that is to take him away from his shitty life. After helping her escape the cops for petty theft, she takes him to her home, an Irish traveler camp. The number one rule of “No outsiders!” is broken for once and it all comes crashing down around them as the cops and competition for his woman’s love tear the camp and their lives apart.

Inspiration:

Back when Breaking Bad first started, another series starring Eddie Izard and Minnie Driver called "The Riches" came to television. The show centered around a family of gypsies that are trying to pull off their biggest con ever: living as settled-people (as they say). I loved this show very much but it fizzled out after two seasons, the second of which had an abrupt ending. This idea always interested me and I wanted to see a continuation of the series very badly. Instead, this idea came to me.

The idea had first come to me by way of thinking like a producer. I was at a campground with my family and thought, "It would be sooo cheap to film at a campground." The idea brought to mind the film "Mud" with Matthew McConaughey, although just in how much I enjoyed the film.

Later the two thoughts had come together into this feature-length script idea.

Progrss:

I am curently drafting the script for this film after storyboarding over a three day span, of which first began with a good two-day brainstorm. I am about a dozen pages into the draft, with a nice sized stack of notecars left to go.
