Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by Writer's Block! This week's Sip comes from a project surrently in production! A long awaited and highly anticipated fan film that will watch like a lost pisode of The X-Files.
Synopsis:
Detective Milo Birkin has a strange case dropped into his lap when a murder is committed in what looks like a zombie attack. Following a number of strange leads, Detective Birkin is eventually accompanied by a local conspiracy theorist who has interesting thoughts on the case at hand. Their investigation into these events lead them to an explanation that could only have one destination for proper filing... The X-Files.
Inspirations:
I've been an X-phile for a long time. When I got into screenwriting it very easily became my passion to re-open The X-Files with Chris Carter and Vince Gilligan, two of my favorite creative minds. After working on writing a pilot for a complete revamp of the series, new characters, slightly different character dynamic, and hopefully appearances from the old cast. With no resources for production of the pilot itended, my plan to get the attention of Chris Carter and others about my idea had to be transmitted via a fan film. And thus the script was born.
Progress/Production:
This project is fully cast, with many sets secured and on stand-by, and with dedicated special and visual effects artists to bring a professional look to our efforts. The next step is making our campaign, which launched today, a success so nothing further stands in our way.
