A new feature length film is underway from Deep Production Studios. From Executive Producer April Tylon-Warren, and Director Lawrence Lee Wallace, the movie, "Sunshine Day" is a screenplay written by Author April Tylon-Warren, based on her book under the same name. "Sunshine Day" is a dramatic coming of age period piece set in the 1970s, focusing on an American family's journey through life and love.
The film features some of the top local and upcoming talent in the Chicago area. Kimberly Washington plays the adult female lead, portraying the grown Sunshine Day, a woman dealing with a family and children wrought with a frightful and depressing past. Also starring in the film is Brian Green, Sr, playing the role of Josh, Jr (as an adult). The story unfolding in the 1970s asks for emotional and dramatic portrayals of mental illness, love, and deception as the chaos we all know as life spurns the love and hardships endured by so many in todays world.
The social and cultural conventions of a time not yet resolved of racial issues serves as a bold reminder of where we are today and how hearts and minds still have a lot of growing to do.
The feature has started production as to release a trailer. The trailer will be released in July to help generate more interest and buzz about the project.
Production is planned to continue in August as we finish up an amazingly dramatic story.
