Your Weekly Sip:
“You get your sip, from my Sip.”
Hello All! This week I'm bringing you into the mix on a fan film we are currently working on bringing to life. This week's Sip takes us to Middle Earth and the adaptation of the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien. This is actually the first in a series of fan films to come, inspired by gameplay content.

Synopsis:
Exiled from Gondor by Denethor for honoring and glorifying his resented son, Faramir; the Dunedain of Ithilien join the fight in the North against the Witch King and the evils now lurking in Angmar.

Valcov, first exiled from Ithilien, enters Bree to rendezvous with a fellow ranger about enemy activity in the North. North of Bree lays Trestlebridge, the frontline in the battles against the Orcs of Angmar whom have settled in the area. Upon entering into Bree, he receives a distress message from Trestlebridge. Valcov dashes off to aid the town, arriving just in time to help stymie a new wave of attacks. The town lay in ruins, and an impending siege requires Valcov to summon the other Dunedain of Ithilien in the area.
Valcov and the other Dunedain arrive again in the midst of attack, saving the last of the men who might guard the people of the town. With the crushing of the town so near, the Dunedain have to decide the best course of action. Will their efforts prove futile in the epic struggle against the darkness in the North?

Inspirations:
Besides loving the writing of JRR Tolkien and the movies, my wife and I play The Lord of the Rings Online, one of the handful of MMORPGs that my wife and I play. The idea stems from the famous Halo series Red vs Blue which was filmed with the game engine. We plan on doing the same thing with a number of short action fan films (by short we mean about 30 to 50 minutes). I guess it seems pretty logical that my love of film and games would come together this way.
Progress:
This film is in the pre-production and packaging stage. We have played with some software and taken some screenshots with organic stand-ins from the role-playing community on LOTRO. The script is in the works but there has been a ton of location scouting. Our next step is building a team of honest role-players on which we can rely for rehearsals, and we will need to set up casting for voice actors.
