Your Weekly S.I.P. :
"You get your Sip, from my Sip."
Happy Hump Day avid readers n-such (or first time browser)! This weeks Screenplay in Progress is a family comedy that partially revives a timless tale of bravery and adventure.

Synopsis:
Donald is a hard-headed adventurous old man who finds himself in a retirement facility after his son decides he cannot take care of himself anymore. Upon his arrival, Donald meets three other spry young-ish fellows whom are also residents, Alan, Arthur, and Perry. The three constantly challenge the rule of the home’s administrator and have to orchestrate a plan to save the Activity Leader’s job, whom caters to their active lives. All for Fun! And Fun for All!
Inspirations:
I was thinking of how funny it would be to mesh Grumpy Old Men’s humor and the classic novel, The Three Musketeers. So it is basically an adaptation of the Three Musketeers into a comedy applied to the lives of four men in a modern nursing home. There is no love interest for the main character however. But most of the main characters are represented in spirit; Donald as D’Artagnan, Alan as Athos, Arthur as Aramis, and Perry as Porthos. Their squire are even lightly represented as the CNAs who push around their wheelchairs on occasions.
Progress:
This script is still in the outlining stages. I have however had a few interviews with a couple of great advisors who either currently work or have worked at retirement facilities, so I've got the inner workings of the sort of place well researched, and I've read The Three Musketeers in its entirety once before, and have watched the dozen movies thatb have been made about it. I even watched Grumpy Old Men for a little research, besides just recalling the time I've spent with my recently deceased Grandfather.
Inspiration to work on this particular story has come in spurts because I have been dwelling in darker stories as of late.
